Music for the Public

Music Ministry

For most of my adult live, I have been a music minister in the Catholic Church, and for short time, in Episcopal and Lutheran Churches.

Worship with us at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Portland, Maine, where I at the 5 p.m Mass on Sundays. I’ll be the one at the piano.

I’m also a music leader at St. Anthony of Padua Parish at St. Hyacinth Church on Brown Street in Westbrook, Maine. Again, I’m the one at the piano, 4 p.m. on Saturdays, and 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.

Everyone in these congregations are in the choir! Singers and instrumentalists who can hold their own are welcome to join our groups that are coming together during the Easter season after a long pandemic hiatus. These are the 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Hyacinth’s and the 5 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph’s. Write to me and let me know if you are interested, or just show up.

Saco River Jazz

In addition to solo sing-alongs at the city-owned nursing home, the Barron Center, I am also bassist and one of the vocalists with Saco River Jazz, a non-profit big band dedicated to bringing to nursing homes, veterans homes and elder communities the music they love. That’s me playing the upright bass in the picture below. We’re just getting back together after two years off due to the pandemic.
